Golf is a very popular sport in the UK, it is loved for it's relaxing yet addictive play and is played at golf clubs all over the country. There is lots of golfing equipment that you can buy online, the most popular being clubs, balls, shoes and bags. Golf balls are a regular purchase for allot of golfers as they are easily lost, they come in large packs with 50 being common so you should have plenty for your golf trip. There are huge selection of golf balls available with some being quite expensive, this depends on the brand and the technology used in the golf ball. There are several different types of golf ball, the first are the range balls which are used at the driving range and are cheap, they are intended for practice so if you are a beginner then these are a good idea. The next type are the X-Outs, these are golf balls made by the big brands but that have some kind of minor fault so are sold cheaply, X-Outs have the brand replaced by a series of X's, hence the name. The fault with X-Outs is usually just cosmetic so should not affect your game too much. there are also lots of normal branded golf balls available if you are willing to pay the extra money.

The golf club is also a very popular piece of golfing equipment, these come in lots of different types and sizes. The first is the wood, woods are made of metal with either steel or a titanium alloy being used and have deep club heads. Woods are called woods because they used to be made of wood, the metal woods were introduced in the 1980's. The next golf club is the iron, iron's have thin club heads. and grooved faces. There are lots of different styles of iron, the type of iron you use will depend on your golfing ability. The next type is the wedge, a wedge is a type of iron but is usually classed as a separate type of golf club, the wedge is normally used for shots close to the flag stick so are often called scoring clubs. The next type of golf club is the putter, the putter is used on the green and is the most used gold club. There are three main types of putter, these are the traditional blade, a heel-toe club head and mallet club head There are also three main lengths of putter, which one you choose just depends on which feels best to you as choosing a putter is a personal thing.
